I love my dog. He's the cutest pooch ever. But I'm going to be honest with you, sometimes he makes my house smell. Taking care of the pet odor is always a high priority on my spring cleaning list and I spend a lot of time and effort on getting rid of his aroma. So I've come up with a fool proof routine that I find very effective.
1. Bathe the hound - at least once every two weeks, preferably once a week.
2. Wash the bedding at least once a week. I have two sets, so I can switch them out mid-week.
3. If you have a cat, be sure to empty and change the litter box frequently. I also recommend giving it a good scrubbing about once a week.
On occasion, it comes to pass that, I am exceptionally busy and don't have the time to religiously follow my Martha Stewart-esq routine outlined above so, sometimes, I cheat.
I beat the stink with Get the Funk Out
. It will knock the socks off of any pet odor you can find. I spray it around my home and wherever the pooch hangs out. It also works great around (not in) the litter box. Another effective alternative is to diffuse the oil
throughout your home. It helps to purify the air and gives your house a fresh, clean smell that's perfect for spring!
