Abundance and Gratitude

So it’s the New Year and I think we’ve all made our plans and are almost settled into our routines, haven’t we? I’ve decided to make my main focus this year on Abundance and Gratitude. One thing I struggle with is how to make sure I stay on track with the plans that I’ve made for myself. I don’t know about you, but for me, I need constant reminders to help me stay on track when it comes to setting goals and achieving them. For instance, before each class I like setting an intention in yoga. Clearly defining my goals and revisiting them regularly is a big part of that. But I also need a way to help me when I get stuck and keep me moving in the day-to-day.
So here are my go tos for staying on target and not going crazy while doing it:
Yoga. Obvious? Yes, but I just can’t say it enough! It keeps me centered and helps reinforce my positive affirmations to start the day. I love practicing at a studio, but I’ve recently started using videos and self-practice when I don’t have time to leave the office. (Hint - Yoga by Candace has an amazing YouTube channel. I can’t believe she has so much free content! Her app is also awesome and it’s free too!)
Aromatherapy. I know, another no brainer, but training my scent memory with aromatherapy really helps when I need a quick fix and can’t escape to yoga class or don’t have time to squeeze in a video or self-practice (balance between work and life). Not to mention all the nourishing plant medicine I get from it!
A walk in nature. OK, I know we can’t all live in Miami, so this is a great opportunity for me to practice a little gratitude. Sorry Buffalo. But seriously, a walk outdoors does wonders for mind, body and spirit - remember this whenever you are in an atmosphere trying to find balance. My new goal is to do it at least once a day, even if it’s just for 15 minutes. I’ll let you know how it goes.
So what do you do to stay on target? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks on how to find balance in life. Please share in the comments below.
